COVID-19 Precautions

Due to the current heath crisis, University Heights Montessori [UHM] has implemented the following precautions to help provide a healthier and more safe environment for are students, families and staff members.

Preventative Measures
1. Daily morning health evaluations and temperature checks for all students and staff members.

2. Staff members are required to wear facial masks covering their nose and mouth and face shields at all times.

3. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of the entire classroom and all materials throughout the day and prior to the start of each class day.

4. Any individual entering the UHM facility will be required to wear a mask and sanitize their hands prior to entering the facility.

5. Only students and staff members are allowed to enter UHM classrooms.

6. New air purifying systems have been installed in all classrooms. These new systems will help increase air circulation and help with removing harmful pollutants, smoke, odor, bacteria and viruses from the air. Our new air purifiers will completely re-filter classroom air approximately every 12 minutes which is about 5 times every hour.

Classroom Guidelines
1. UHM will operate with reduced classrooms sizes and staff members will organize the daily schedule and the classroom to help with increasing social distancing and allow the students to naturally work and socialize in smaller groups.

2. All students will remain in the same classroom throughout the course of their day and will not be able to switch classrooms or interact with students in other classrooms.

3. Siblings are required to be together in the same classroom.

4. Staff members will remain in the same classroom throughout the day and will not interact with other teachers or students in other classrooms unless in situations of an emergency or when a teacher may be legally required to do so.

Outdoor Activities & Lunch Guidelines
1. Each classroom will have its own separate playground time and/or playground area.

2. Each classroom of students will eat snack and lunch separately from all other classrooms.

3. More outside playtime will be implemented throughout the day to help limit the amount of time that students are together in the classroom.
