Montessori Twos
Ages 2.0 to 2.11
University Heights Montessori [UHM] offers a Montessori Twos program for children between the ages of 2.0 to 2.11 years. The classroom consists of approximately 13 students with three Montessori teachers. Parents have the choice of either a 3 days a week program or 5 days a week program. Your child must be 2 years of age by September 1st.
The classroom is set up as a Montessori classroom with age appropriate materials consisting of challenging jobs for students at all learning levels in the areas of Montessori which includes: practical life, language, math, sensorial, science, culture and geography. Music, art and creative play are also a part of the curriculum and day to day activities. The students will experience hands-on-activities in all of the areas mentioned above while also allowing for circle time and recess every day.

Montessori Preschool
Ages 3 to 6
UHM offers two Montessori classrooms for students between the ages of 3 to 6 years. Both classrooms offer a true Montessori curriculum that is engaging and exciting for all students. Classroom A has a class size of approximately 18 students while Classroom B has a class size of approximately 29 students.
All of our Montessori lesson plans follow a yearly curriculum enriched by geography, science, math, language, sensorial, practical life and art, music, foreign language and a gross-motor development program.
The Montessori programs in both classroom are designed around a different theme each month. The mornings begin with a group circle time where new work of the day is introduced. This is followed by "work time" where the students select materials of their own choice off the shelves. The Montessori materials that are prepared and available on the shelves for the students range from traditional to a more challenging Montessori level to accommodate the different ages and developmental levels of the students in each classroom.
Following "work time", the students return to circle time and participate in singing, dancing and other fun and enriching circle activities for approximately 30 minutes. Circle time is then followed by a 45 minute outside recess time for all students in both classrooms. Following recess, the students all sit down together for lunch where afterwards our morning program concludes at 12:30 pm. Our afternoon [PM] Montessori program continues with quiet story time [approximately 15 minutes], nap time for our napping students [approximately 2 hours] and our PM Montessori schedule which follows the same format as our morning program but includes different enriching Montessori activities.

Montessori Summer Program
Ages 2 to 6
Every Summer, UHM offers a fun, exciting, engaging Summer program for our currently enrolled students in addition to students who are not currently enrolled in our program. Our Montessori Summer program is designed around a different theme every year and includes a special guest each week. Our special guests include the Insect Discovery Lab, the Marine Science Institute, the Bubble Lady, Happy Birds, James Henry “Music with Kids”, Wildlife Associates, the Lizard Lady plus mother additional guests.
Our Montessori Summer Program is for students between the ages of 3 to 6 years old. Parents can choose to enroll their child for all weeks of the Summer program or they can choose the specific weeks that are best for them. Please Note: UHM does require that you enroll your child for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Our Summer program is 5 days a week [Monday thru Friday] and is taught by our current teaching staff. The hours of operation for our program are from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm.
